    BOARD-CERTIFIED DERMATOLOGIST, MOM, AND HIGH ALTITUDE SEEKER

    Jenna is a board-certified dermatologist practicing in Colorado, with years of experience in treating and caring for skin, particularly skin cancers. She initially moved to Colorado for her dermatology residency training, during which she picked up snowboarding, rock climbing, and hiking as hobbies.

    Over the course of five years, she spent hundreds of hours at high altitudes, summiting all 58 of Colorado’s peaks above 14,000 feet. During these long days on alpine trails, she began considering how to make sun-protective apparel more fun and appealing for everyone, recognizing its superior effectiveness compared to sunscreen alone. However, it wasn’t until 2023, when Jenna started taking her newborn son hiking in the mountains, that she realized the lack of comprehensive sun-protective clothing options for infants. This realization ultimately inspired her to start Alpenshade.

    DESIGN ENGINEER & OUTDOOR ENTHUSIAST

    Colin is an engineer with a background in design and passion for the outdoors. He resides in Boulder, Colorado, and spends much of his free time in the Indian Peaks on his bike or skis. This time in the mountains and background in engineering has instilled a passion for creating thoughtfully designed and well crafted products that allow everyone to enjoy the natural world safely.

    He believes that well designed gear removes a layer of worry when in nature, and allows the user to create a deeper connection with the world around them. As a co-founder of Alpenshade, Colin combines his technical skills and love for outdoor adventure to design innovative UPF-rated apparel that helps families embrace the outdoors with confidence and comfort.
